About - Stories of You
Why we built this

The people you love have stories worth keeping forever

Stories of You exists so no family loses another voice to time. We make it simple to capture the way your parents and grandparents tell a story — the laugh, the pause, the detail only they remember — and turn it into something your grandchildren will still hear thirty years from now.

The story behind

Thirty years ago, my grandfather pressed record.

He set up his VHS camcorder, held up old family photographs one by one, and spent forty minutes telling the stories behind each picture. His voice, his memories, his perspective on a lifetime of moments — all captured in his own words.

That recording has become one of my most cherished possessions. I just wish he had done more.

Throughout history, storytelling between generations has been the critical thread of every family's culture. Yet in our busy lives we rarely take the time to capture these voices while we still can. I founded Stories of You because everyone has stories worth keeping, and every family deserves to hear those stories preserved forever — in the voice of the person who lived them.

The promise

Your stories are sacred to us.

We understand the trust you place in us when you share your family's most precious memories. Your stories are not data to us — they are irreplaceable pieces of family history that deserve to be treated with care and respect.

We do not sell your data, and we never use your personal stories to train AI models. Recordings and videos are stored with encryption. Limited information is shared only with the trusted services that transcribe and illustrate your stories — under strict data-protection agreements.

If Stories of You ever shuts down, your recordings still belong to you. Every story is downloadable from your storyboard, and we commit to giving you ample time and tools to export everything before any service wind-down. Your voice is yours, always.
